The Short Sale Rave in San Antonio

***
Short Sale: When the Mortgage Company accepts a payoff for less than what is owed.

Short Sale Scenario: A homeowner is falling behind on their mortgage. They either do not have the desire nor the means to pay off the debt, so they decide to sell the property to satisfy the mortgage. If the mortgage payoff (less closing costs to sell the house) is more than the value of the property, the Lender may consider a "short sale." The short sale would be slightly more profitable for the Lender rather than going through a foreclosure process.

“How Do I Qualify For A Short Sale? “
Talk to your mortgage lender. They will discuss the options available to you. Their Loss Mitigation department may ask you for current pay stubs, W-2’s and other documents to prove you are going through a financial hardship.

“I’m Going Through a Divorce and I Can’t Afford My Mortgage!”
Let your Lender know right away! The sooner you start looking for help, the more likely they'll be willing to help you.
